Theresa's BIAM: Book in a month
This blog began as a journey through Victoria Lynn Schmidt's Book In A Month: Fool-proof way to write a novel in thirty days. Now it is more of a journey through my life as a writer.

New Program
Day 11 of trying Victoria's book again and I decided to plug it into a new program I downloaded back in January called yWriter5. It really is a great program helping you keep track of characters, locations and props as well as the actual story. I am doing this all because I have run into a block roughly the size of the Great Wall (LOL). I am hoping that breaking the story down this way I can find a chip in the block.

Week one
I have decided not to scrap the whole thing and start over. As I was reading through what I already had I found some stuff that was actually usable, so I am now going through and deleting those things which would be inconsistent with my characters new personalities. Although I have to say I am keeping much more than I thought I would also I am considering going into more detail on the six year voyage to the new planet (see January 2 for story description) as well as deepening characters.

Returning
Hello everybody I am so sorry I have not posted in awhile. Just when we get the hubby's health all worked out my own health is starting to go downhill. I am having problems with my back and legs and the 'almighty' doctors cannot find the problems.

Update
As I am taking February off to study and research I thought i would post an update on my studies. I am reading a book on the darker characters of fiction. How to write them that is, in reading this book I have made the decision to make one of my protagonists a Dark Hero. I am also considering investing in some graphing paper to better map out living and working areas.
Changes
Thank you all for the comments, I have (I hope) improved according to your many suggestions and a few of my own ideas.

news
Update on Hubby: cath scan found nothing he has been given a special diet and exercise routine along with some meds and is now doing much better.
I personally have decided to take the month of February off to do some studying and research, however I will still be posting as much as I can.
Thank you all for following loyally even when I disappeared.

14000 words of worry
We got the news back from hubby's stress test and he has a slight clog they are doing a "cath scan" Wednesday to see what's going on. In the meantime I have found writing soothing, I have discovered that this world I am creating in my story is an escape for me and for just a few hours I do not have to be in a panic over another possible bypass.
