New Program

Day 11 of trying Victoria's book again and I decided to plug it into a new program I downloaded back in January called  yWriter5.  It really is a great program helping you keep track of characters, locations and props as well as the actual story.  I am doing this all because I have run into a block roughly the size of the Great Wall (LOL).  I am hoping that breaking the story down this way I can find a chip in the block.

Week one

I have decided not to scrap the whole thing and start over.  As I was reading through what I already had I found some stuff that was actually usable, so I am now going through and deleting those things which would be inconsistent with my characters new personalities.  Although I have to say I am keeping much more than I thought I would also I am considering going into more detail on the six year voyage to the new planet (see January 2 for story description) as well as deepening characters.

Returning

Hello everybody I am so sorry I have not posted in awhile.  Just when we get the hubby's health all worked out my own health is starting to go downhill. I am having problems with my back and legs and the 'almighty' doctors cannot find the problems.

Update

As I am taking February off to study and research I thought i would post an update on my studies.  I am reading a book on the darker characters of fiction. How to write them that is, in reading this book I have made the decision to make one of my protagonists a Dark Hero.  I am also considering investing in some graphing paper to better map out living and working areas.

Changes

Thank you all for the comments, I have (I hope) improved according to your many suggestions and a few of my own ideas.

Update on Hubby: cath scan found nothing he has been given a special diet and exercise routine along with some meds and is now doing much better.

I personally have decided to take the month of February off to do some studying and research, however I will still be posting as much as I can.
Thank you all for following loyally even when I disappeared.

14000 words of worry

We got the news back from hubby's stress test and he has a slight clog they are doing a "cath scan"  Wednesday to see what's going on.  In the meantime I have found writing soothing, I have discovered that this world I am creating in my story is an escape for me and for just a few hours I do not have to be in a panic over another possible bypass.

Too much

Wow has it really been four days? I am really sorry guys, Tuesday I took my husband to see the cardiologist for the first time since the year of his bypass(2008).  We were informed that my dear hubby has a weak heart and they need a treadmill stress test immediately(8:15 tomorrow morning)  We are hoping for the best, but worried about the big S.  Wish us luck(fingers crossed)

Drowning in Words

Caught up, is there really such a thing? I am still at least three days behind the BIAM schedule.  To top it all off my writer friends have been praising this program I have never heard of before, so I go and download the free version of it and (gulp) I am in over my head.  I could navigate a submarine before I learn to navigate this thing.  I found a way to move my WIP over to the new program thinking "okay I will see what it does with this and maybe I'll have a clue."  Fat chance, I lost two whole sentences and still have no idea whats going on or how to add any more story.  So I feel I am drowning in a puddle of my own making.  Oh well hope I have better luck in the morning when I can see it through fresh eyes.

So close and yet so far

Well I got up to 6655 words today, only 250 from my goal it is 1:30 in the morning and my husband will kill me if I don't get in bed so as much as I would love to sit here and stare at an unmoving computer for three more hours I have to put it off until morning.

Goodnight All and Blessed be

Day 3

Its now Day three of my novel experience and I ended today at 4617 words Yay i am one day closer.
Today was a hard one sitting still with my arthritis(L1,L2,L3 of my spine) was killer.  On top of that I was trying to help my hubby with a research paper, and he's sick and cranky.  Despite all of that I hit my goal, so I am one proud writer, and for the first time I worked through my blocks instead of just getting up and walking away until something smacks me upside the head.  what I wrote wasn't perfect, it wasn't life changing, it may not even be good but I wrote it and it's mine.  With that I am going to sign off, goodnight y'all.

Playing Catch-up

Okay I am starting this blog on Day 2 of the book.  So far I have 2304 words.
My One-Liner is: Love and betrayal in another world.

Basically it is two people who meet on a journey to colonize another planet and begin to develop a relationship, however when they reach the new planet they find it is inhabited by mythological creatures.  This poses a problem for the couple because the man finds himself attracted to a wild elf.

Day two week one

I am Theresa Jean Williams and this is my writing journey.  I have been working on this story for three years and it just never seems good enough.  I am supposed to be writing this book as outlined in  Book in a Month: the fool-proof system for writing a novel in 30 days.  By Victoria Lynn Schmidt.

This is day two, however I will admit I am cheating I little and just picking up where I left off in November.

So I have 1,347 words already.  Anyway gotta get to work.
